Accessing Remote Database each time for updating or retrieving details are time-consuming so datasets help you to keep local database tables on your PC.A behaves like real Database and it represents a complete set of data that includes tables, constraints, and relationships among the tables. In a simple word, A Data Set is a local copy of your Database Table that gets populated in client PC.It is independent of Data Source and because it exists in the local system, it makes application fast and reliable. For a list of these values, see the Data Adapter constructor.
When the My SQLData Adapter fills a Data Set, it will create the necessary tables and columns for the returned data if they do not already exist.
For example, in this mode, a connection could be established to read a chunk of data, the data could then be modified by the application as required.
A connection could then be reestablished only if and when the application writes data back to the database.
In the next chapter, you will learn about Data Tables and Data View.
The Data Adapter serves as a bridge between a Data Set and a data source for retrieving and saving data.
